Segundo um relat\u00f3rio financiado pelo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iadb.org\/es\/proyectos\/project-information-page,1303.html?id=RG-G1006\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Banco Interamericano de Desenvolvimento (BID<\/a>), o fen\u00f4meno que atinge as geleiras do Andes est\u00e1 associado \u00e0s mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Os resultados do estudo, titulado \u201cMonitoreo de glaciares tropicales andinos en un contexto de cambio clim\u00e1tico\u201d, foram apresentados no final de mar\u00e7o em uma reuni\u00e3o em Bogot\u00e1, na Col\u00f4mbia. No estudo, foram identificados que na Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, no Caribe, perdeu-se o 92% da sua \u00e1rea glacial no \u00faltimo s\u00e9culo e meio.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00e1 nos Andes colombianos, perde-se entre 3% a 5% da massa de neve permanente a cada ano. A previs\u00e3o \u00e9 que em 30 ou 40 anos, o gelo desapare\u00e7a.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo foi realizado para conhecer a atividade das geleiras e verificar o processo de retrocesso que sofrem com a mudan\u00e7a clim\u00e1tica, nos quatro pa\u00edses inclu\u00eddos no projeto. As geleiras nos Andes s\u00e3o consideradas muito importantes desde uma perspectiva global.<\/p>\n<p>O <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Painel Intergovernamental sobre Mudan\u00e7as Clim\u00e1ticas (IPCC, na sigla em ingl\u00eas<\/a>) vem ressaltando a import\u00e2ncia das geleiras de montanhas como s\u00e9rios indicadores da ocorr\u00eancia de mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas.<\/p>\n<p>Para antecipar melhor os impactos futuros para as popula\u00e7\u00f5es andinas, \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio aperfei\u00e7oar as capacidades de prepara\u00e7\u00e3o.
