Na verdade, h\u00e1 tantas \u00e1rvores nos territ\u00f3rios \u00e1ridos\u00a0como na selva amaz\u00f4nica. Os valores foram estimados por um grupo de cientistas que analisaram as imagens a\u00e9reas de alta resolu\u00e7\u00e3o, com o Google e o Bing.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Com as imagens consultadas, encontraram 9% a mais de \u00e1rvores que se estimulava em todo o mundo. O novo n\u00famero se deve a uma mudan\u00e7a na metodologia de pesquisa.<\/p>\n<p>Normalmente, os analistas estudam uma floresta equatorial atrav\u00e9s de manchas verdes vistas em imagens de sat\u00e9lite como Landset ou Sentinel. Calcula-se as dimens\u00f5es do territ\u00f3rio e consegue-se um n\u00famero probabil\u00edstico, segundo os hectares de mancha verde.<\/p>\n<p>Mas no caso dos biomas \u00e1ridos, \u00e9 mais dif\u00edcil contar as \u00e1rvores. Um grupo formado por mais de 200 pesquisadores, entre profissionais e estudantes, de 15 organiza\u00e7\u00f5es, impulsionado pela <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/brasil\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas para a Alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o e a Agricultura (FAO)<\/a>, utilizou de imagens de alta resolu\u00e7\u00e3o, usando sat\u00e9lites da empresa DigitalGlobe.<\/p>\n<p>Para a pesquisa, o grupo usou ferramentas dos buscadores Google e Bing. A qualidade dos sensores permitiu ver a distin\u00e7\u00e3o das \u00e1rvores individualmente. A equipe de pesquisadores conseguiu descobrir que em 10% das zonas florestais h\u00e1 1.327 milh\u00f5es de biomas \u00e1ridos. Com a descoberta, a superf\u00edcie arb\u00f3rea presente em terras secas se eleva em 50%, e em 9% em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao total dos bosques em todo o mundo.<\/p>\n<p>De acordo com a coautora do estudo, Elena Mar\u00eda Abraham, diretora do Instituto Argentino de Pesquisas de Zonas \u00c1ridas, \u201co importante \u00e9 que ao identificar uma superf\u00edcie maior de bosque seco, estamos redesenhando o mapa de terras \u00e1ridas. Diante de um cen\u00e1rio de mudan\u00e7a clim\u00e1tica e desertifica\u00e7\u00e3o, em que as terras \u00e1ridas v\u00e3o aumentar, \u00e9 determinante conhecer o recurso mais importante que temos, como s\u00e3o os bosques secos\u201d, afirmou.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo de novas metodologias de pesquisa, amparadas pelo desenvolvimento tecnol\u00f3gico, colabora para que o profissional da \u00e1rea de Meio Ambiente possa ampliar sua forma\u00e7\u00e3o e atua\u00e7\u00e3o na \u00e1rea.
