Os participantes do estudo responderam\u00a0a um question\u00e1rio sobre as horas dormidas e realizaram um registro da alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Os pesquisadores reuniram tamb\u00e9m exames de sangue e medidas f\u00edsicas como o peso, a press\u00e3o arterial e a circunfer\u00eancia da cintura.<\/p>\n<p>Segundo a pesquisadora principal do estudo, <a href=\"http:\/\/medhealth.leeds.ac.uk\/profile\/522\/912\/laura_hardie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laura Hardie, da Universidade de Leeds<\/a>, na Inglaterra, \u201ccomo encontramos que os adultos que reportavam dormir menos que seus pares eram mais propensos a ter sobrepeso o ser obesos, nossos resultados ressaltam a import\u00e2ncia de dormir o suficiente\u201d, afirmou.<\/p>\n<p>No estudo, as cinturas dos que dormiam uma m\u00e9dia de seis horas por noite tinham mais de uma polegada (2,4 cent\u00edmetros) a mais que os que dormiam nove horas por noite. O peso e os n\u00edveis do colesterol HDL \u201cbom\u201d no sangue tamb\u00e9m eram maiores entre as pessoas que dormiam menos. Os pesquisadores ressaltam que estes \u00edndices indicam possibilidades de problemas de sa\u00fade.<\/p>\n<p>A pesquisadora Hardie indica tamb\u00e9m que \u201ca quantidade de sono que se necessita varia de uma pessoa a outra, mas o consenso atual \u00e9 que o melhor para a maioria dos adultos \u00e9 de sete a nove horas\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Apesar do estudo n\u00e3o analisar a rela\u00e7\u00e3o de causa entre dormir menos e o aumento de peso, a pesquisa apresenta novas evid\u00eancias que vinculam o sono \u00e0 sa\u00fade. Estudos anteriores j\u00e1 indicaram resultados similares, apontando que o corpo pode ter mais fome e preferir alimentos cal\u00f3ricos para poder acumular gordura e recuperar energia.<\/p>\n<p>Um bom sono poderia ser, assim, uma estrat\u00e9gia para combater a obesidade e o sobrepeso.
