Um estudo desenvolvido por pesquisadores da<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ua.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Universidade de Alabama<\/a>, nos Estados Unidos, encontrou uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre o pot\u00e1ssio dos alimentos e a rigidez a\u00f3rtica.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>O estudo foi feito com ratos vivos, alimentado com dietas que variavam em quantidade de pot\u00e1ssio, art\u00e9rias de rato analisadas em cultivo com concentra\u00e7\u00f5es diferentes de pot\u00e1ssio e c\u00e9lulas do m\u00fasculo liso vascular do rato, cultivadas em um meio de cultivo.<\/p>\n<p>Usando n\u00edveis baixos, normais ou altos de pot\u00e1ssio na dieta, 0,3 por cento, 0,7 por cento e 2,1 por cento em refer\u00eancia ao peso, a equipe de pesquisadores encontrou que os ratos alimentados com uma dieta baixa em pot\u00e1ssio tiveram um aumento consider\u00e1vel no endurecimento das art\u00e9rias.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00e1 nos animais alimentados com dieta alta em pot\u00e1ssio notou-se uma diminui\u00e7\u00e3o da calcifica\u00e7\u00e3o vascular. O coautor do estudo, Paul Sanders, afirmou que o estudo demostran o benef\u00edcio de uma suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o adequada de pot\u00e1ssio \u201cna preven\u00e7\u00e3o da calcifica\u00e7\u00e3o vascular nos ratos propensos \u00e0 aterosclerose e o efeito adverso da baixa ingest\u00e3o do pot\u00e1ssio\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo tamb\u00e9m identificou efeitos dos baixos n\u00edveis de pot\u00e1ssio para a calcifica\u00e7\u00e3o das c\u00e9lulas do m\u00fasculo liso vascular. O baixo consumo de pot\u00e1ssio pode representar a transforma\u00e7\u00e3o das c\u00e9lulas do m\u00fasculo liso vascular em c\u00e9lulas de osso com pouco pot\u00e1ssio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tipo de rigidez<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nos seres humanos, o tipo de rigidez arterial pode indicar doen\u00e7as do cora\u00e7\u00e3o e risco de morte card\u00edaca.
