De acordo com estes dados, o setor energ\u00e9tico e industrial apresentou um novo recorde de emiss\u00e3o de g\u00e1s carb\u00f4nico, com um crescimento de 1,7% em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao ano anterior.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Segundo a AIE, o maior respons\u00e1vel deste aumento est\u00e1 na \u00c1sia, principalmente no funcionamento das usinas de carv\u00e3o. \u201cA gera\u00e7\u00e3o de eletricidade com carv\u00e3o representou um 30% das emiss\u00f5es globais de CO2\u201d, indicam no relat\u00f3rio.<\/p>\n<p>As usinas el\u00e9tricas de carv\u00e3o na \u00c1sia foram feitas h\u00e1 pouco mais de uma d\u00e9cada, e ainda podem funcionar mais 30 ou 40 anos. A vida \u00fatil destas instala\u00e7\u00f5es podem comprometer as a\u00e7\u00f5es que buscam combater as mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas, especialmente nas pr\u00f3ximas d\u00e9cadas.<\/p>\n<p>De acordo com o estudo, a \u00cdndia, os Estados Unidos e a China foram os pa\u00edses com maiores n\u00edveis de emiss\u00f5es de g\u00e1s carb\u00f4nico no ano passado. A Europa, por outro lado, apresentou queda de 1,3% em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao ano anterior.<\/p>\n<p>O analista do setor de carv\u00e3o da AIE, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/carlos-fern%C3%A1ndez-alvarez-412b8537\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlos Fern\u00e1ndez \u00c1lvarez<\/a>, comenta que s\u00f3 a China e a \u00cdndia acumulam juntas 35,5% das emiss\u00f5es globais. \u201cS\u00e3o pa\u00edses que est\u00e3o crescendo e tentando garantir o abastecimento el\u00e9trico a toda a popula\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d, diz. Esta tend\u00eancia, acredita, far\u00e1 que estas centrais de energia instalem mais pot\u00eancia, ao contr\u00e1rio de fechar as existentes.<\/p>\n<p>Uma poss\u00edvel tecnologia que poderia mitigar os impactos da combust\u00e3o do carv\u00e3o poderia ser a de captura e armazenamento do CO2.
