Atualmente, o Jap\u00e3o \u00e9 o pa\u00eds com a maior expectativa de vida do mundo e 20% da popula\u00e7\u00e3o dever\u00e1 sofrer desta doen\u00e7a at\u00e9 2025. O nome do restaurante responde ao t\u00edtulo de uma popular hist\u00f3ria japonesa, O restaurante com muitos pedidos, publicado em 1924 por Kenju Miyazawa.<\/p>\n<p>O gerente do restaurante, Shino Oguni, ressalta que a ideia surgiu depois de visitar um lar de idosos e verificar as diferentes faces desta doen\u00e7a, das quais apenas o aspecto negativo \u00e9 conhecido.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;O mal de Alzheimer \u00e9 incompreendido pela sociedade. As pessoas pensam que essas pessoas n\u00e3o podem fazer nada sozinhas e que a doen\u00e7a \u00e9 sin\u00f4nimo de total isolamento da sociedade.
