A multiplica\u00e7\u00e3o das algas est\u00e1 associada \u00e0s mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas.<\/h2>\n<p>Devido \u00e0s temperaturas mais altas, consequ\u00eancia do aquecimento global, a Ant\u00e1rtida est\u00e1 se transformando em um lugar verde, de acordo com imagens obtidas do sat\u00e9lite Sentinel 2, da Ag\u00eancia Espacial Europeia. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41467-020-16018-w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Um estudo, publicado na revista Nature<\/a>, mostra o aumento da presen\u00e7a de algas microsc\u00f3picas que v\u00e3o ocupando lugares onde antes se viam gelo.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>O estudo foi realizado por pesquisadores da Universidade de Cambridge e do British Antarctic Survey, entre os anos de 2017 e 2019, durante o ver\u00e3o. Desde o espa\u00e7o, conseguiram ver uma massa verde na Ant\u00e1rtida.<\/p>\n<p>Um dos autores do estudo, Matthew Davey comentou sobre a import\u00e2ncia desta descoberta para compreender melhor como se desenvolve a vida terrestre na regi\u00e3o, j\u00e1 que estas algas s\u00e3o importantes para capturar di\u00f3xido de carbono da atmosfera. Considerando &#8220;os ecosistemas terrestres limitados da Ant\u00e1rtida, todos os organismos que fazem fotoss\u00edntese far\u00e3o uma contribui\u00e7\u00e3o importante para a ecologia deste h\u00e1bitat&#8221;, avaliam no estudo.<\/p>\n<p>Durante o ver\u00e3o, h\u00e1 regi\u00f5es da Ant\u00e1rtida que podem chegar a zero graus cent\u00edgrados. Estas zonas s\u00e3o as que est\u00e3o passando por impactos mais fortes devido ao aquecimento global, e onde se desenvolvem estas algas.
