De acordo com a estudante Lina Mar\u00eda Gil Rodr\u00edguez, do curso de Engenharia Agr\u00edcola, da Universidade Nacional da Col\u00f4mbia (UNAL), \u201ccom este produto \u2013 feito a partir dos res\u00edduos \u2013 queremos reduzir o corte de \u00e1rvores para gerar este tipo de material, e de forma ideal, conseguir substituir a madeira\u201d, afirmou.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>No pa\u00eds, foram produzidos no segundo semestre do ano passado 1.976.520 toneladas de restos do arroz. Geralmente, os restos s\u00e3o incinerados ou usados como abono. Por\u00e9m, como fertilizante, \u00e9 poluente porque libera metano durante a decomposi\u00e7\u00e3o e pode provocar doen\u00e7as respirat\u00f3rias como asmas e alergias.<\/p>\n<p>A proposta \u00e9 desenvolver com estes restos um tipo de aglomerado que pode ser usado de forma sustent\u00e1vel tanto como isolante t\u00e9rmico, mobili\u00e1rios, produtos para a agricultura e outros setores da economia prim\u00e1ria.<\/p>\n<p>A equipe de estudantes desenvolveu a ideia a partir de uma demanda local, que gostaria de aproveitar melhor os restos do arroz produzido.
