Este epis\u00f3dio poder\u00e1 afetar tamb\u00e9m as temperaturas e as chuvas de muitos pa\u00edses, em outras partes do planeta.<\/h2>\n<p>As declara\u00e7\u00f5es da OMM deveriam servir de alerta para os governos se prepararem em diversos setores para os poss\u00edveis impactos que poder\u00e3o causar o fen\u00f4meno. Um planejamento adequado poderia evitar estragos maiores, crises e mitigar os efeitos. Alguns dos setores mais sens\u00edveis a este fen\u00f4meno s\u00e3o a agricultura, a sa\u00fade e a gest\u00e3o dos recursos naturais como a \u00e1gua, por exemplo.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>O fen\u00f4meno clim\u00e1tico resulta num esfriamento da temperatura da superf\u00edcie do oceano nas partes central e oriental do Pac\u00edfico equatorial, que se soma a outras mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas como s\u00e3o os ventos e as chuvas na regi\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>No relat\u00f3rio apresentado pela OMM, estima-se que a temperatura da superf\u00edcie do oceano Pac\u00edfico tropical poder\u00e1 permanecer no mesmo n\u00edvel durante at\u00e9 finais de 2020, prolongando-se bastante no tempo. \u201cO 2020 segue em caminho de ser um dos anos mais quentes entre os que se tem registro e se prev\u00ea que o per\u00edodo 2016-2020 seja o quinqu\u00eanio mais quente desde que se iniciaram os registros\u201d, afirmou o Secret\u00e1rio Geral da OMM, o professor Petteri Taalas.<\/p>\n<p>As consequ\u00eancias para a Am\u00e9rica do Sul s\u00e3o uma maior quantidade de chuvas em grande parte situadas no norte do continente.
