Este processo requer o aquecimento da \u00e1gua em vapor. O vapor ent\u00e3o passa pela abertura da membrana, deixando o sal do outro lado da membrana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A organiza\u00e7\u00e3o desenvolveu um novo tipo de membrana que \u00e9 mais eficaz por mais tempo do que se pensava anteriormente. Um dos maiores desafios na remo\u00e7\u00e3o do sal da \u00e1gua do oceano \u00e9 quando a membrana da m\u00e1quina fica completamente molhada. Existem muitas t\u00e9cnicas para tentar evitar isso, como fazer a membrana com materiais que repelem a \u00e1gua.
