De acordo com os desenhistas desta turbina de vento, a <b><i>Libellula<\/i><\/b> <b>\u00e9 capaz de produzir at\u00e9 55 kW, energia suficiente para fornecer eletricidade para 15 fam\u00edlias.<!--more--><\/b><\/p>\n<p>A <i>Libellula<\/i> exige ventos de 2 metros por segundo para operar. Portanto, pode ser instalada em \u00e1reas de baixa altitude. Atualmente, a nova turbina foi testada em Molinetto (It\u00e1lia) e em dois meses de opera\u00e7\u00e3o conseguiu capturar quase 1.200 kWh, que foram injetados na rede de energia local. Este novo equipamento de gera\u00e7\u00e3o de energia e\u00f3lica poderia ser utilizado por projetos urbanos ou em pequenos projetos em \u00e1reas rurais, pois necessita apenas de um suporte de 20 metros e pode ser fixado ao solo atrav\u00e9s de cabos.
