A s\u00edndrome metab\u00f3lica possui rela\u00e7\u00e3o com o risco de doen\u00e7as do cora\u00e7\u00e3o e diabetes. Al\u00e9m disso, identificou-se que as pessoas que consomem frequentemente nozes, am\u00eandoas ou pistaches reduzem seu risco de obesidade entre 37 e 46 por cento.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>O estudo publicado pela Universidade de Loma Linda, da Calif\u00f3rnia (EUA), indica que as pessoas que participaram do estudo e comeram at\u00e9 16 gramas por dia de frutos secos tinham um pouco mais de peso do que o normal, enquanto que as pessoas que comiam apenas 5 gramas por dia ou menos tinham sobrepeso, em alguns casos em grande propor\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Os participantes do estudo que comiam grande quantidade de frutos secos tinham um \u00edndice de massa corporal de 27, enquanto que as pessoas que consumiam pouca quantidade tinham um \u00edndice de massa corporal entre 29 e 30. De acordo com o US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, indica-se que as pessoas com sobrepeso s\u00e3o aquelas que t\u00eam um IMC entre 25 e 29,9, e a partir de 30 se considera obesidade.<\/p>\n<p>Neste estudo participaram 803 pessoas, um ter\u00e7o das quais apresenta s\u00edndrome metab\u00f3lica.
