Um recente estudo descobriu que os homens que consomem certa quantidade recomendada de vitamina D t\u00eam uma menor propens\u00e3o de sofrer ataques do cora\u00e7\u00e3o ou acidente vascular cerebral, em contraposi\u00e7\u00e3o a aqueles com baixos n\u00edveis de vitamina D.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Aproximadamente 119 mil adultos foram observados durante duas d\u00e9cadas para este estudo, publicado no American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. A pesquisa revelou que os homens que consumiam ao menos 600 unidades de vitamina D por dia s\u00e3o 16 por cento menos propensos a desenvolver problemas de cora\u00e7\u00e3o ou acidentes vasculares cerebrais do que aqueles que tomavam menos de 100 unidades di\u00e1rias.<\/p>\n<p>Entretanto, este padr\u00e3o n\u00e3o se repetiu entre as mulheres, conforme detalhou o pesquisador Qi Sun, da Escola P\u00fablica de Harvard, EUA. Segundo Sun, as observa\u00e7\u00f5es mostram que um maior consumo de vitamina D est\u00e1 associado a um menor risco de doen\u00e7a cardiovascular em homens, mas n\u00e3o em mulheres. Entretanto, Sun e outros pesquisadores indicaram que estas descobertas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o suficientes para fazer recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00f3lidas. Ele indicou que o estudo n\u00e3o prova que a vitamina D, encontrada em peixes, ovos, leite enriquecido e \u00f3leo de f\u00edgado de bacalhau, seja a causa do menor n\u00edvel de risco que o estudo indica.<\/p>\n<p>Esta pesquisa foi baseada na observa\u00e7\u00e3o, tomando como ponto de partida os dados de dois projetos a longo prazo que, desde a d\u00e9cada de 1980, s\u00e3o realizados por dois grandes grupos de profissionais da sa\u00fade nos EUA.
